February Meeting

Tonight we met at Hunan's and discussed the book Lie After Lie.  We had a lengthy discussion about this book.  We were all fascinated by the Boston police officers' description of Jefferson City and took exception with the notion that none of JC's restaurants are open past 9:00 p.m. 

Everyone had tasty meals and then we decided on books for the future.  Terri brought a book that had been written by her friend Michael Lee West and the group will read it in April.   After discussion of other titles, it was decided to read A Reliable Wife by Robert Goolrich available on Amazon.

We read it before the Angry Housewives eating Bonbons, when I took it into Nancy's Trade A book, they said they had never heard of it and would not take it, later it hit the best seller list. We have always been way ahead of the game!

A Request....

If you borrow a book, please return it to its owner as soon as you are done.  Several people have lent out books to never have them return!

January 2010

Book Club met at Fuji's in Jefferson City to discuss the book by Fannie Flagg I Still Dream About You.  Members in attendance were Paula, Linda B, Terri, Ashley and Joan.  A short but lively book discussion was held after dinner.  Dinner was wonderful and the conversation even better!

 

The next meeting is February 8 at Hunan's at 5:00.  We will be reading Lie After Lie.

West Book Club

West Book Club started in 1996 by Marcia Heberle and Terri Steffes. Mrs. Heberle was the principal of West Elementary School and Mrs. Steffes was a fourth grade teacher.  Mrs. Heberle encouraged Mrs. Steffes to start a book club for the teachers of the school.  The first meeting was at the home of Mrs. Steffes at 222 Eastland Drive, Jefferson City, Missouri.  The first book read was Snow Falling on Cedars.
